Ingredients:

1 pocket-size loving cup finely chopped onions or pocket-size shallots 
1 pocket-size loving cup finely chopped tomatoes

1 tsp kashmiri chili pulverisation for the amazing color ( recommended)
A pinch of turmeric pulverisation if your sambar pulverisation doesnt get got it.
1 tbsp powdered jaggery (optional)
3 tbsp grated fresh kokosnoot or dried. ( optional ) but sambar volition gustation cracking with lilliputian coconut.
1 tbsp tamrind glue ( or add together to a greater extent than tomatoes ) if you lot dont get got tamrind )
salt equally required
curry leaves 
2-3 tbsp fresh chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp methi seeds
1-2 ruddy dry out chilis
2 tsp oil 


Method:


Take a pressure level pan or pressure level cooker.
Add oil, rut it, add together mustard seeds, permit it splutter.

Add the methi seeds in addition to  red chilies. add together the curry leaves.

Add the chopped onions, or shallots , saute well for few seconds. 

Add tomatoes and saute more.Mash lightly.

Add other vegetables,  stir well. 

Add the fresh grated coconut.

Add iv cups of water, add together sambar powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder, tabular array salt in addition to  tamarind paste.

Add the soaked dal .

Cover in addition to pressure level create for 3-4 whistles.

When cooled, opened upwards cooker, lightly squeeze the dals, but brand certain non to squeeze the vegetables also much.


Add jaggery if you lot similar , garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

For farther gustation in addition to flavour add together 1 tbsp ghee into the hot sambar, stir well, continue covered. 

Serve hot with rice or idlis.




Notes:

Use tomato plant puree if you lot exercise non get got tomatoes.
Onions tin give notice survive skipped,however adding them gives a close eating seat similar taste.
Add to a greater extent than tomatoes if you lot exercise non have tamarind paste or fresh tamarind.
While adding grated fresh kokosnoot is optional ,adding 3-4 tbsp volition give a yummy  taste to the sambar.
Coconut milk pulverisation ( two tbsp ) may also survive added instead of grated kokosnoot .
