Chole Aka Chana Masala ( Chick Peas Inwards Tangy Tomato-Onion Sauce)



Chole or Chana masala is i of the pop Indian dishes  both at abode too abroad. There are really few Indians  who are non familiar alongside this dish. Almost all Indian restaurants abroad stimulate got this dish on their menu. It is a really non-controversial dish that is uncomplicated too delicious. Servings: 4-6



Ingredients:


Garbanzo beans/Chick peas ( Kabuli Chana): One xv oz can
( you lot could too purpose 1 loving cup dried chick peas soaked overnight too so cooked to required bird of tenderness).
Cooking oil: 1 + 1 tbsp
Jeera( cumin seeds): 1/2 tsp
Onion: two medium, chopped.
Garlic: half dozen pocket-sized cloves, chopped fine
Ginger: 1 inch piece, chopped fine.
Green chillies: 4, chopped fine
Tomato paste: two tbsp ( tin too purpose two fresh medium sized tomatoes).
Chole masala: 1 tbsp ( I purpose Everest or MDH brands)
Red chili powder: 1/4 tsp
Kasoori methi( dried fenugreek leaves): 1 tbsp
Tea decoction : 1 cup
Salt: every bit per taste
Sugar: 1/4 tsp
Water: two cups
Chaat masala: 1/4 tsp ( I purpose Everest brand)
Cilantro ( coriander leaves): two tbsp, chopped.

Method:


Heat 1 tbsp cooking  fossil oil inwards a sauté pan. Add jeera( cumin seeds). Sauté for xxx seconds.



Add the garlic, ginger, sauté for a minute.




Add inwards the chopped onions too sauté until the onions sweat. Add inwards the greenish chillies. If using fresh tomatoes, you lot may add together it now. If using tomato plant paste, DO NOT ADD at this stage. Once the fresh tomatoes wilt a little, plough off the open fire too allow the mixture cool down. Once cooled accept it inwards a blender/food processor too pulse it to a fine paste. Keep it aside.

Making tea decoction : seep two tea bags inwards i loving cup of hot H2O for five mins. Remove  too discard the tea bags.

Rinse too drain the chick peas too operate along aside.



Heat the remaining 1 tbsp fossil oil in the same the pan. Add the dry soil glue too saute for 2-3 minutes.


Now add together the tomato plant glue ( if you lot stimulate got non used fresh tomatoes earlier). Sauté for 4-5 mins on medium open fire until the tomato plant glue starts leaving oil.. Add the Chole masala powder, cherry chilli pulverization too mix well.



Add the rinsed too drained chick peas, kasoori methi, salt, sugar, tea decoction too mix well. Add H2O every bit needed to attain the desired bird of thickness of the sauce. Cover too allow it simmer for xv mins.




Garnish with  chaat masala too chopped fresh cilantro( coriander leaves).



Serve hot with bhature/ poori/ roti/ jeera rice/ peas too carrot pulao/ obviously rice or only bread.
