Kothambari Saaru ( Cilantro Soup/ Coriander Leaves Soup); Meatless Monday



Have yous ever heard of soup made out of cilantro leaves??? Well, believe it or not, it is a really traditional recipe where I come upward from. Cilantro is known equally coriander leaves inwards Republic of Republic of India why because coriander seeds come upward from cilantro. See?? Didn't know that did you? In Kannada together with a few other languages, coriander is known equally kothambari. We Indians don't similar to consume rice dry out simply similar that. Ingredients:


For grinding:

Coriander leaves(Cilantro ): 1 medium bunch
Freshly grated coconut: 1/2 cup
Green chillies: 2-3 medium ones( accommodate equally per private spice level)
Tamarind pulp: 1/4 tsp
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Water: 1/2 loving cup + two cups

For tempering:

Coconut oil: 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves: 1 sprig

Method:


In a nutrient processor/mixer-grinder/blender, grind together coriander leaves, greenish chillies, freshly grated coconut, salt, tamarind together with 1/2 loving cup H2O to a fine paste.

In a pot/ saucepan, dilute this glue amongst two cups of water. Bring it to a boil. Turn off the flame.Now temper the soup equally described below.

Tempering:

Heat kokosnoot fossil oil inwards a small-scale frying pan. Add mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds splutter, add together Curry leaves. Turn off the flame. Add this tempering to the higher upward pot.



Serve hot amongst roughly overnice hot steamed rice.

Kothambari saaru served amongst squeeze upkari , matta rice together with fried fish.
